Amirhossein Mashaherifard

Amirhossein Mashaherifard (* 1984 in Tehran ) is an Iranian theater director and choreographer .

Life

Mashaherifard began his career as a young director in Tehran while studying theater directing at the Soore Art School in Tehran. His BA thesis "Aftermath" was performed as the best BA thesis of 2013 at the International Student Theater Festival. In recent years he has been a member of the scenic research course at the  Ruhr University Bochum , where he started his collaboration with Rimini Protokoll and the choreographer Laurent Chétouane . 

Mashaherifard contributed one of the most remarkable episodes of Truck Tracks Ruhr by Rimini Protokoll, which was launched in 2016 in cooperation with the Ringlokschuppen Ruhr and Urbane Künste Ruhr . Most recently, together with the Ringlokschuppen Ruhr, he produced the intermedia performance Aftermath , which was shown in the Sophiensaele  Berlin as a guest performance at the Tanztage Berlin 2020 festival .

Amirhossein Mashaherifard and Shahab Anousha are founders of the performance collective tehran re: public and began their artistic collaboration in Tehran in 2012, where they jointly developed various theater projects and performances. The collective researches in its work with body, text and choreography and experiments at the intersection of theater, dance and performance.
