Amiya Kumar Mallick gained his first international experience in 2008 when he won the bronze medal in the 200-meter run in 21.33 s at the Commonwealth Youth Games in Pune . The following year he retired from the World Youth Championships in Bressanone with 22.25 s in the first round, as well as the 2013 Asian Championships in Pune with 21.67 s. In 2015 he took part in the Asian Championships with the Indian 4 x 100 meter relay and reached sixth place in 39.67 s. In 2016, in New Delhi , he improved the Indian national record in the 100-meter run to 10.26 seconds, improving the old record of Anil Kumar Prakash and Abdul Najeeb Qureshi by four hundredths of a second. The following year he finished seventh at the Asian Championships in Bhubaneswar in 21.03 s over 200 meters and was disqualified over 100 meters in the semifinals, as well as with the Indian relay in the preliminary run. At the beginning of September he took part in the 60-meter run at the Asian Indoor & Martial Arts Games in Ashgabat , where he was eliminated in the semifinals with 7.06 seconds. In 2019 he took part with the relay at the South Asian Games in Kathmandu and won the silver medal behind the team from Sri Lanka with 39.97 seconds.
In 2013, Kumar Mallick became Indian champion in the 200-meter run and in 2019 over 100 meters.
