Amphoe Ban Chang (in Thai : อำเภอ บ้านฉาง ) is a district ( amphoe - administrative district) in Rayong Province . Rayong Province is located in the southeast of the central region of Thailand .

geography

Neighboring districts are (from west clockwise): Amphoe Sattahip and Bang Lamung of Chonburi Province and Amphoe Nikhom Phatthana and Amphoe Mueang Rayong Rayong province. In the south lies the Gulf of Thailand .

history

Ban Chang was originally a tambon phala in Mueang Rayong District . Since the USA had been using Utapao Airport as an air base since 1963 , the number of residents quickly increased. Therefore, on May 7, 1976, the government established the "Branch Circle" ( King Amphoe ) Ban Chang by separating two tambon from Amphoe Mueang. On March 16, 1985 he got full amphoe status.

  • Ban Chang (Thai: เทศบาล เมือง บ้านฉาง ) consisting of the parts of the Tambon Phla, Ban Chang.

There are three municipalities with "small town" status ( Thesaban Tambon ) in the district:

  • Samnak Thon (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล สำนัก ท้อ น ) consisting of parts of the Tambon Samnak Thon.
  • Ban Chang (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล บ้านฉาง ) consisting of parts of the Tambon Ban Chang.
  • Phla (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล พ ลา ) consisting of parts of the Tambon Phla.

There is also a " tambon administration organizations " ( องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - Tambon Administrative Organizations, TAO)

  • Samnak Thon (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล สำนัก ท้อ น ) consisting of parts of the Tambon Samnak Thon.
