Amphoe Nikhom Phatthana ( Thai : อำเภอ นิคม พัฒนา ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district) in the west of Rayong Province . Rayong Province is located in the east of the central region of Thailand .

Neighboring districts are (from north clockwise): Amphoe Pluak Daeng , Ban Khai , Muang Rayong and Ban Chang Rayong province and Amphoe Bang Lamung of Chonburi Province .

history

Nikhom Phatthana was established on July 15, 1996, initially as a "branch circle" ( King Amphoe ) by separating four tambon from the Ban Khai district .

On May 15, 2007 the Thai government decided to raise all 81 King Amphoe to simple amphoe status in order to unify the administration. With the publication in the Royal Gazette "Issue 124 chapter 46" on August 24, 2007, this decision officially came into force, Nikhom Phatthana now had Amphoe status.

Local administration

There is one commune with "city" status ( Thesaban Mueang ) in the district:

  • Map Ta Phut (Thai: เทศบาล เมือง มาบตาพุด ) is located in the center of the Amphoe Mueang Rayong and consists of the complete Tambon Huai Pong, Map Ta Phut and parts of the Tambon Noen Phra, Thap Ma, Map Kha.

There are three municipalities with "small town" status ( Thesaban Tambon ) in the district:

  • Map Kha (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล มา บ ข่า ) consisting of the parts of the Tambon Nikhom Phatthana, Map Kha.
  • Makham Khu (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล มะขาม คู่ ) consisting of the complete tambon Makham Khu.
  • Map Kha Phatthana (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล มา บ ข่า พัฒนา ) consisting of parts of the Tambon Map Kha.

There are also two " tambon administration organizations " ( องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - Tambon Administrative Organizations, TAO)

  • Nikhom Phatthana (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล นิคม พัฒนา ) consisting of parts of the Tambon Nikhom Phatthana.
  • Phana Nikhom (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล พนา นิคม ) consisting of the complete tambon Phana Nikhom.
