The official seats of Lauenberg , belonging to the Duchy of Braunschweig-Lüneburg since the 14th century , and Lüthorst , belonging to the Duchy of Braunschweig-Lüneburg since the 15th century, were merged with the Erichsburg office in 1539 . In 1643 the area of the former Hunnesrück office came back to the Hildesheim monastery. From then on, two small areas were administered by the Erichsburg, which were separated from the Hunnesrück office in between. They belonged to the canton of Markoldendorf from 1809 to 1813 . In 1817 the Erichsburg office was merged with the neighboring Hunnesrück office and finally incorporated into the Einbeck office in 1859 .
