Office Kirchhundem
The Kirchhundem office was a regional authority in the Olpe district .
history
The Kirchhundem office was established in 1843/44 on the basis of the rural community code for the Prussian province of Westphalia from October 31, 1841. It was in place until the local reorganization on July 1, 1969.
The Kirchhundem office included the politically independent communities of Heinsberg , Kirchhundem , Kohlhagen , Lenne , Oberhundem and Saalhausen . At the head of the administration was the bailiff (later mayor ), who also headed the official representation . After the Second World War , the administration and chairmanship of the official representative were separated through the introduction of the official director and mayor.
The administrative seat was Kirchhundem and at times the Vasbach estate near Kirchhundem. In 1905 the official administration building was completed, which also housed the official savings bank . The building, which was built in Art Nouveau and is now a listed building, is now the town hall of the Kirchhundem community .
The municipality of Saalhausen and the places in the Lennetal that belonged to the former municipality of Kirchhundem came to the newly formed city of Lennestadt in 1969 when the municipality was restructured . The municipality of Lenne formed an administrative community with the municipality of Kirchhundem until 1975, but was then dissolved and its area divided between the cities of Lennestadt and Schmallenberg .
