The Sundern office was one of the administrative districts that Prussia set up in the 19th century in connection with municipal reforms. The office was created in 1826 under the name of Amt Allendorf and existed until 1975. In that year it was completely incorporated into the city of Sundern .
history
In 1826 the Allendorf district was formed from the districts of Allendorf , Hagen and the parish Stockum with the communities of Stockum , Endorf and Amecke within the Arnsberg district. After the dissolution of the Hellefeld office, the municipality of Sundern was assigned to the Allendorf office. In 1905/1906 the official seat was moved to Sundern and the administrative district was renamed Amt Sundern . In 1952 the office was expanded to include the community of Westenfeld from the Freienohl office.
In 1961 the office had a population of 13221 people in an area of 133.9 km². It existed until 1975 and was completely incorporated into the city of Sundern.
coat of arms
Under a silver shield head in blue covered with a continuous black cross is a silver, seven-leaf oak on a silver mountain topped with a black mill wheel.
The number of seven oak leaves symbolizes the seven communities in office. The mill wheel represents the industrial character of the official seat in Sundern. The black cross commemorates the former sovereigns, the electors of Cologne , while the colors blue and silver were the hallmarks of the Counts of Arnsberg , who were sovereigns until the 14th century. The coat of arms was officially approved on April 21, 1961. |
