Mönchengladbach is the seat of the Mönchengladbach District Court , which is responsible for the northern districts of Hardt , Neuwerk , Rheindahlen , Stadtmitte and Volksgarten of the city of Mönchengladbach. Around 147,000 people live in the judicial district . The Mönchengladbach-Rheydt District Court is responsible for the southern districts of Mönchengladbach .

Superior courts

The regional court overriding the Mönchengladbach District Court is the Mönchengladbach Regional Court , which in turn is subordinate to the Düsseldorf Higher Regional Court . The district court and the regional court are located in the same listed building complex on Hohenzollernstrasse .
