District Court

Recklinghausen is the seat of the Recklinghausen District Court , which is responsible for the cities of Datteln , Herten , Oer-Erkenschwick , Recklinghausen and Waltrop in the Recklinghausen district. Around 281,000 people live in the 256 km² judicial district . The district court is located in the building complex Reitzensteinstrasse 17-21.

Superior courts

The regional court above the Recklinghausen District Court is the Bochum Regional Court , which in turn is subordinate to the Hamm Higher Regional Court .

Further responsibilities

The Recklinghausen district court is responsible for agricultural matters in the districts of Bochum, Castrop-Rauxel, Herne, Herne-Wanne and Recklinghausen.

The Recklinghausen District Court is responsible for keeping the mining land register for the entire state of North Rhine-Westphalia.
