The district court Waren (Müritz) is a court of the ordinary jurisdiction of the state Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania in the district of the regional court Neubrandenburg .

    The following cities and municipalities were incorporated into the district of Waren (Müritz) on February 2, 2015 by converting the Neustrelitz District Court into a branch of the Waren (Müritz) District Court.

    Thus the originally approximately 1710  km 2 large jurisdiction by the court structure reform to approximately 2610 km 2 enlarged. About 99,000 people live in it.

    As a shipping court, the Waren (Müritz) district court has both factual and local jurisdiction in inland shipping matters in the first instance for the district of the Rostock Higher Regional Court and thus for the whole of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

    The courthouse is located in the street Zum Amtsbrink 4 at the civic and administrative center near the city center of Waren (Müritz).

    The Neustrelitz branch is located at Tiergartenstrasse 5 in Neustrelitz .

    Superior courts

    The district court of Neubrandenburg is superordinate to the district court of Waren (Müritz) . The competent higher regional court is the higher regional court in Rostock .

    The Hanseatic Higher Regional Court, as the Higher Shipping Court, is responsible for appeals and complaints against decisions of the Waren (Müritz) local court in inland navigation matters.
