    building

Building of the branch in Neuer Weg

The court was housed in a building at 14 Clara-Zetkin-Strasse . The branch is now located there. This building, which was designed and built as a district court during the German Empire , is classified as a monument . It is to be extensively refurbished from autumn 2018 to the end of 2020.

The Malchin branch, which has been part of the Demmin District Court since 1998 , was closed on May 9, 2009. A branch of the local court was located at Neuer Weg 19 in Demmin until 2015 .

    Superior courts

The district court of Stralsund was initially superordinate to the district court of Demmin . In 1994 the jurisdiction changed to the district court of Neubrandenburg . The competent higher regional court was the higher regional court in Rostock .

With the conversion of the local court into a branch of the local court of Neubrandenburg, the jurisdiction of the regional court of Neubrandenburg and the higher regional court of Rostock remains. The towns and municipalities that were incorporated into the district of the Greifswald District Court are now part of the Stralsund District Court.
