Anıl Bilgen

Anıl Bilgen (* 1989 in Ankara ) is a Turkish jazz musician ( piano , composition ).

Live and act

Bilgen began taking classical piano lessons at the age of nine. In 2000 he was accepted into the class of İrem Bozkurt at the Hacettepe University Conservatory . From 2004 to 2009 he took private lessons with İlhan Baran . In 2009 and 2010 he studied at the Vienna Conservatory with Roland Batik , in order to complete his studies in the classical piano department in the same year. In 2010 and 2011 Bilgen was a member of George "Skip" Gailes' band. In 2011 he won the prize for best interpreter at the JAmZZ competition in Istanbul and began a second degree at the Jazz Institute of the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz with Olaf Polziehn , which he completed in 2015 with distinction; In 2018 he completed his master's degree at this university.

Bilgen played with Joe Lovano , Ed Neumeister , Jim Rotondi , Karlheinz Miklin , Mike Richmond and Karolina Strassmayer . Since 2016 he has been a member of the Kahiba Trio (with Heinrich von Kalnein and Gregor Hilbe ). In his own trio he plays with Gustavo Boni (bass) and Luis André Carneiro de Olivera (drums).
