An Evening of Yes Music Plus ... -

An Evening of Yes Music Plus ... is a live album by the British progressive rock band Anderson, Bruford, Wakeman, Howe (also: ABWH), an offshoot of the band Yes , from 1993.

Emergence

Due to a legal dispute with the members and the management of the group Yes, the four musicians were not allowed to call themselves Yes , but the tour for their successful album Anderson Bruford Wakeman Howe was allowed to carry the name An Evening of Yes Music Plus ... (Details under Anderson, Bruford, Wakeman, Howe ). On July 29, 1989, the four musicians started with the support of Tony Levin electric bass , Julian Colbeck , keyboards and Milton McDonald , guitar and vocals, on a successful world tour that lasted until March 23, 1990 and included 74 concerts . One of these concerts, which took place on September 9, 1989 in front of 20,000 visitors at the Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View , California ( USA ), was filmed for the purpose of a live broadcast and is documented on the CD / DVD An Evening of Yes Music Plus ... which was posthumously , 1993, was published. At that time, ABWH had already merged into Yes (see Union ). Due to a hepatitis illness, Tony Levin is not playing bass here, but long-time companion Bill Brufords, Jeff Berlin .

The album features ABWH pieces and Yes classics from the 70s, especially from the time when the four musicians involved were members of Yes (especially from the albums The Yes Album , Fragile and Close to the Edge ).

The cover was again designed by fantasy artist Roger Dean , the picture is titled Floating Islands .

In February 2007 the record label Voiceprint re-released the album and the DVD (in two different versions). This new edition contains a limited version of the feature (" In the Big Dream "), which was released as a video back in 1989 and contains interviews and video clips .
