action

The reporter Paul Asher is in a life crisis - after working as a war correspondent in Afghanistan and due to a broken marriage, the formerly devout Christian is resigned. His attempts to support the severely traumatized veteran Matt put a lot of strain on him. In this situation Paul throws himself into a special interview that he is conducting with a man who claims to be God. Paul should write his article in three short sessions - this is what the very educated and accommodating interlocutor wants. The journalist takes the task seriously and is increasingly involved in religious-philosophical discussions.

In the first session at a chess table in a public park, the interviewee impresses Paul with in-depth knowledge of his career and speaks directly to him about the current situation of his marriage. He answers a number of theological questions very profoundly and solves a randomly named arithmetic problem (2427 multiplied by 648) correctly without any hesitation. At the end of the interview, he explains to Paul that he actually came to help him.

Confused, Paul drives to his office at The Herald, where his boss Gary tells him to work less to deal with his experiences in Afghanistan. Wanting to help Paul find support for Matt, Gary thinks the idea of interviewing God is great and promises Paul a special placement in the Herald's print.

In the apartment that his wife left, Paul tries to process what he has experienced. He reacts increasingly paranoid and hurts himself. On the following day, in the second session, Paul is harassed by his counterpart with questions about religion but also his marriage and increasingly becomes the focus of the conversation himself. He learns that his death is imminent and that through his prayers he has called God to obtain salvation.

Back in the office, Paul meets his sister-in-law, who talks to him about his wife's affair that caused the separation and is confronted by his boss about the marital problems, who is very understanding, but at the same time exerts pressure to complete the interview. When passing on a contact for Matt, Paul asks him to check a photo of his interviewee for the intelligence service.

On the third day of the interview, Paul meets with the mysterious interlocutor in an office building and angrily discusses with him fundamental questions of belief in God and salvation as well as the effects that this has on Paul himself.

When Paul cuts off the interview, he receives a message from Matt, who found out that Paul's interviewee died many years ago. An office worker who happens to be passing by cannot open the interview room either, while Paul can enter it without any problems. Before he disappears without a trace, God reveals to Paul that he has come to help him in his hopelessness and to prevent him from suicide.

Although Paul's bike was stolen, he went home in a positive mood and learned from Matt that he was finally getting help in overcoming his trauma. Once at home, Paul meets his wife and manages to get access to her again. He realizes that through the interview he has found his faith in God again.
