Brenton Thwaites (born August 10, 1989 in Cairns , Queensland ) is an Australian actor .

Life

Thwaites was born in Cairns , Queensland . He has a sister named Stacy. He attended Cairns State High School in Far North Queensland , where he graduated in 2006. He then studied acting at the Queensland University of Technology until 2010 . He moved to Sydney because of his role in Home and Away . Thwaites has had a daughter since 2016.

Career

Before graduating from Queensland University of Technology, Thwaites began his acting career in the independent film Charge Over You . After graduating, he landed a guest appearance on Sea Patrol . In November 2010, he got the lead role of Luke Gallagher in the Fox8 television series Slide . However, the series was discontinued after a season due to poor ratings. He made his breakthrough in Australia with the role of Stu Henderson in the soap Home and Away . In this role he was seen between August 23, 2011 and March 5, 2012.

In February 2012, The Daily Telegraph announced that Thwaites had been given the male lead in the remake of The Blue Lagoon , Blue Lagoon: Lifeless In Love . The film aired on Lifetime in June 2012 . In 2014 he appeared next to Angelina Jolie in Maleficent - The Dark Fairy . Furthermore, the film Keeper of Memory - The Giver with Thwaites in the leading role came to the cinemas in autumn 2014 .

In May 2017, Pirates of the Caribbean: Revenge of Salazar , in which he plays Henry Turner, the son of William ( Orlando Bloom ) and Elizabeth Turner ( Keira Knightley ), was released.

In September 2017, it was announced that the actor will star Dick Grayson in the DC series Titans .
