An der Linde is located in the west of the Bergisch city ​​of Wuppertal .

Location and description

The location is at an altitude of 275  m above sea level. NHN at the Klosterbusch forest in the Schrödersbusch residential area in the Vohwinkel district . Neighboring locations are Schieten , Sonnenberg , Boltenheide and Steeger Eiche .

history

The location is recorded on the overview map of the municipality of Vohwinkel from 1868 as 'an der Linden' and 'Linde' on the overview map of Vohwinkel in the supplement to the address book of the municipality of Vohwinkel from 1910.

An der Linde belonged to the mayor's office of Sonnborn , which was separated from Haan in 1867 , and which was transferred to the municipality of Vohwinkel in 1888, losing territory to Elberfeld .

In the municipality lexicon for the Rhineland province from 1888, a house with nine residents is given.

Between 1895 and 1910 the summer house for the textile entrepreneur Hermann Meckel was built here as Elberfeld , the Linde house , which is attributed to the architect Heinrich Plange . The house was used as a retirement home in the 1930s, then as a children's home until the 1960s, then rebuilt and used by the Technical Academy in Wuppertal . Since 2009 it has housed a private secondary school.
