Boltenheide is a location in the west of the Bergisch city ​​of Wuppertal .

Location and description

The location is at an altitude of 268  m above sea level. NHN at the Klosterbusch forest in the Schrödersbusch residential area in the Vohwinkel district . Neighboring locations are Schieten , Sonnenberg , An der Linde , Frohental , Mühlenpfad and Steeger Eiche .

The name is derived from a person's name.

history

The location is recorded on the topographical survey of the Rhineland from 1824 without a name. From the maps from 1892 the location is labeled as 'Bollenheide' and from 1903 as 'Boltenheide'.

By 1830 Bolten Heath is in the cadastre of the district Sonnborn as a cottas with an area of 1 Ha listed that has emerged in the 18th century.

Boltenheide belonged to the mayor's office of Sonnborn , separated from Haan in 1867 , which was transferred to the municipality of Vohwinkel in 1888, losing territory to Elberfeld .

In the municipality lexicon for the Rhineland province from 1888, a house with 14 inhabitants is given.

It is not known when today's Boltenheide street , which leads east from Ehrenhainstraße to the location, was given its name.
