At the Schranne 1 (Weißenburg)
Haus An der Schranne 1 is a town house in the listed old town of Weißenburg in Bavaria , a major district town in the Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen district in Central Franconia . The building is registered under the monument number D-5-77-177-38 as an architectural monument in the Bavarian monument list.
The building is located on the An der Schranne square near the confluence with Luitpoldstrasse . Not far to the south is the Schranne, which gives the square its name . The building at Luitpoldstrasse 30 is attached to the north side of the building .
The two-story building is a saddle roof building with a half-timbered upper floor. The year of construction was dendrochronologically dated 1548 . The building now houses a café on the ground floor. Connected to the side is a two-storey saddle roof building designed by Georg Probst from 1860. There is a barn on the site , which is also listed. It is a two-story gable roof building with a half-timbered dwelling from the late 18th century.
