Ana Maria Labin

Ana Maria Labin (* 1981 in Bucharest , Romania ) is a Swiss soprano .

Labin grew up in Switzerland. She began her vocal training at the Zurich Conservatory, studied from 2003 at the Zurich University of Music and Theater and took master classes with Margreet Honig , Graham Clark and Mireille Delunsch . In the same year she was a finalist in the Hariclea Darclée International Voice Competition . 2006 she won the the Municipal Theater of Bern and the Menuhin Festival Gstaad aligned Concours Ernst Haefliger .

In the 2005/06 season she was engaged in the musical Into the Woods at the Klagenfurt City Theater and appeared as Juliette in the operetta Der Graf von Luxemburg at the Mörbisch Seefestspiele . In the 2006/07 season she was a member of the International Opera Studio at Zurich Opera House .

At the Mannheim Mozart Weeks 2007 she sang Celia in Mozart's opera Lucio Silla under the direction of Ádám Fischer . In the 2007/08 season she was engaged at the Montpellier Opera. She sang the world premiere of a song cycle by Richard Dubugnon on Radio France under the direction of Alain Altinoglu , interpreted Luciano Berio's Sequence III in Zurich and appeared at the Schwetzingen Festival as manto in Agostino Steffani's Niobe, Regina di Tebe under the direction of Thomas Hengelbrock .

In autumn 2008 she made her debut at the Teatro alla Scala under the direction of Asher Fisch as Valencienne in Franz Lehár's The Merry Widow . Under the direction of Serge Honegger she sang Euridice in Gluck's Orfeo ed Euridice in Zurich .
