Anas Mousayevich Pschichachev

Mufti Anas Mussajewitsch Pschichatschew ( Russian Анас Мусаевич Пшихачев ;. Scientific transliteration Anas Musaevič Pšichačev * 11. October 1967 in Nalchik , † 15. December 2010 ibid) was until his death the highest Muslim clerics in the Russian republic of Kabardino-Balkaria .

Pschichachev spoke out publicly against religious extremism several times. He was shot dead by two strangers in front of his house in December 2010 and died on the spot. Russian President Dmitry Medvedev paid tribute to the dead and attributed the act to religious fanatics.
