Schafig Aujessowitsch Pschichachev

Schafig Aujessowitsch Pschichatschew ( Russian Шафиг Ауесович Пшихачев ;. Scientific transliteration Šafig Auesovič Pšichačev ; born 15. January 1962 in Nizhny Kurkuschin , Rajon Baksan , Kabardino-Balkar ASSR , Soviet Union ), also Shafig Pshikhachev , is a Soviet-Russian kabardinischer Muslim cleric and a personality of Islam in Russia who, after the collapse of the Soviet Union, was involved in setting up the coordination center for Muslims in the North Caucasus and is active there. He is the current Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Russian Islam Fund and the Executive President of the International Islamic Mission since 2004. He is the former Chairman of the Spiritual Administration of the Muslims of the Kabardino-Balkaria Republic , d. H. the former mufti of Kabardino-Balkaria (1992–2002).

He received his theological training at the Mir-Arab-Madrasa in Bukhara in Uzbekistan and continued his studies at the Sharia Faculty of the University of Jordan . 1996–2000 he studied at the branch of the Libyan university "Islamic Call" in Damascus in Syria and graduated in 2002 from the history faculty of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University (in Nalchik ).

He is the General Representative of the Coordination Center for Muslims of the North Caucasus in Moscow and a member of the Social Chamber of the Russian Federation .

Mufti Shafig Pschichachev told Interfax Religion that polygamy is a reality in Russia.

His successor in the Mufti Office in Kabardino-Balkaria was the later murdered Mufti Anas Mousayevich Pschichachev (1967-2010).
