Smirnowa started the World Cup for the first time in February 2017 in Pyeongchang and finished 32nd in the Moguls competition. At the Junior World Championships 2017 in Chiesa in Valmalenco , she won bronze in the dual moguls and silver in the moguls. In the 2017/18 season she won four European Cups and thus reached fifth place in the Moguls discipline. At the 2018 Junior World Championships in Duved , she came 12th in the Moguls and fourth in the Dual Moguls. In March 2018 she became the Russian champion in the Moguls. The following year she finished ninth in the Dual Moguls and fourth in the Moguls at the World Championships in Park City and won gold in the Dual Moguls at the Junior World Championships in Chiesa in Valmalenco. At the end of March 2019 she won the Russian Moguls and Dual Moguls championships in Krasnoyarsk . In the 2019/20 season there were ten World Cup starts, five times in the top ten. With third place in the Moguls in Mont-Tremblant, she achieved her first podium in the World Cup and at the end of the season she finished ninth in the Moguls World Cup.
