Anathon Aall [ oːl ] (born August 15, 1867 in Nesseby , † January 9, 1943 in Oslo ) was a Norwegian philosopher .

Aall attended the higher Latin school in Stavanger in southwestern Norway, he passed his Abitur exam in 1886. He then studied theology and philosophy at the University of Kristiania ( Oslo ) . He passed the theological exam in 1891. His thesis was awarded a gold medal by the Crown Prince. In 1893 he studied at the University of Berlin with Adolf von Harnack , in 1894 in Leipzig and in 1894/95 in Paris . In 1908 he was appointed full professor in Kristiania (Oslo).

Aall had been married to the Austrian folklorist Lily Weiser-Aall since 1929 and the couple had three children.
