Anatoly Abramovich Krutjansky
Anatoly Abramowitsch Krutjanski ( Russian Анатолий Абрамович Крутянский ; born August 29, 1927 , † 1994 ) was a Soviet chess player .
Life
Krutjansky was taught chess in the Leningrad Pioneer Palace. In the final of the All-Union Trud Championship in 1954 in Kawgolowo ( Leningrad Oblast ) he shared second place and was a candidate for championship. In the same year he took part with Lokomotiv in the team cup of the sports associations of the USSR in Riga . In 1958 he was shared eighth with Alexander Tolusch in the semi-finals of the Soviet championship in Moscow . At the Leningrad Championships he shared third place in 1958 and second place in 1972. In the match for the title of Master of Sports of the USSR, he lost to Alexander Cherepkov in 1958. Krutjansky did not acquire the title until 1962, and last year he met the required standard in the Leningrad Trud Championship.
With Trud and Spartak he won the Leningrad team championship. In 1968 he was with Lokomotiw ( Georgi Borissenko , Jacob Murey , Igor Saizew and others) as a substitute first at the VII Championship of the International Railway Sports Federation (USIC) in Dzintari . The following year he won the match tournament of the Hero Cities in Volgograd with the Leningrad team . In the summer of 1978 he took third place at the Tolush Memorial Tournament in Kuzmolowski ( Leningrad Oblast ), ahead of Valery Loginov and Igor Polovodin . In the All-Union senior tournament in Yerevan in 1984, he was second behind Tscherepkow. In 1988 he shared third place at a tournament in Nakhchivan , victory went to Rostislaw Korsunski.
Krutjansky, a mechanic by profession , was considered an expert on the endgame and was one of the coaches of the Leningrad selection. As a national referee , he oversaw various tournaments. His highest rating was 2410 in July 1972.
