Anatoly Georgievich Ivanov-Smolensky

Anatoly Georgievich Ivanov-Smolenski ( Russian Анатолий Георгиевич Иванов-Смоленский , scientific. Transliteration Anatoly Ivanov Georgijewič-Smolenskij ; born May 5 . Jul / 17th May  1895 greg. , † 1982 in Moscow ) was a Soviet psychiatrist and pathophysiologist . He received the Stalin Prize for Medicine in 1950 for his work on pathophysiology and psychotherapy.

Life

In 1917 Ivanov Smolensky finished his studies at the St. Petersburg Medical-Surgical Academy (now the Military Medical Academy SM Kirov ). From 1918 to 1920 he worked as an assistant doctor and doctor in the Central Hospital of the Red Army . In 1919 he became Behterew's laboratory assistant in the reflexology department of the Institute of Morbidity. In 1921 Ivanov-Smolensky moved to Ivan Petrovich Pavlov's laboratory. In the 1920s he was working there on a specific topic. At the same time Ivanov-Smolensky was working as a doctor under the direction of Viktor Petrovitsch Osipow in a mental hospital of the Military Medical Academy. In 1921 he earned his doctorate in healing sciences . He completed his dissertation on the development of the teaching of psychasthenia and the experience of experimental psychophysiological research .

Anatoly Ivanov-Smolensky founded the Institute of Physiology and Pathology of Higher Nervous Activity in the Leningrad State Pedagogical Institute AI Heart in October 1880. It was the first such institute in the Soviet Union. From 1931 to 1945 Ivanov-Smolensky headed a psychiatric clinic at the All Union Institute for the study of experimental medicine. Ivanov-Smolensky paid special attention to child psychology and developmental psychology . He carried out medical experiments on the neglected and home children. Ivanov-Smolensky worked as an advisor in the forward war hospitals, including military hospitals in the encircled Leningrad during World War II .

After the Second World War he headed the Moscow branch of the Institute of Evolutionary Physiology and Pathology of Higher Nervous Activity IP Pavlov. In 1952 he became director of the Institute of Higher Nervous Activity, which was part of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR. In the late 1940s he was elected a member of the Soviet Academy of Medical Sciences. At the end of life Ivanov-Smolensky researched asthenia .

Ivanov-Smolensky was buried in Moscow's Kunzewo Cemetery in January 1982 .
