Anatoly Michailowitsch Stolbow

Anatoly Mikhailovich Stolbow ( Russian Анатолий Михайлович Столбов * 21st March 1933 in Leningrad ; † 7. November 1996 in St. Petersburg) was a Soviet and Russian theater - and film - actor .

Life and accomplishments

Stolbow came from Leningrad, where his father had moved to study. He later worked in industry and volunteered for service in the Red Army at the beginning of the German-Soviet War . In September 1941, however, he was declared missing. His wife Sinaida Mikhailovna, b. Dubnewskaya, was evacuated to Chkalov with her two children and worked in a factory there. After the end of the blockade , the family returned to Leningrad, where Sinaida Stolbowa then taught mathematics.

After graduating from school, Stolbow worked as a radiologist from January to August 1952 , but then entered the Shchepkin Theater School , which was attached to the Maly Theater . In 1954 he interrupted his training in favor of theater engagements in Dagestan and Karagandy , but took it up again in 1956. Svetlana Nemoljajewa and Vitaly Konjajew were among his classmates. After graduating in 1958, he worked for a year at the Lenfilmstudio , then appeared at the Small Drama Theater in Leningrad until 1961 and returned to Lenfilm in 1965 .

Stolbow made his film debut in 1954 as a pupil in the baptism of fire , but was not seen regularly in films until 1959. His work included more than 70 works on camera, the best-known works include Republic of Rascals (1966), the first part of the film series Рождённая революцией ( Roschdjonnaja rewoluzijei ) Сержант милиции ( Serschant milizii , both 1974) and Соль земли ( Sol Semli , 1978). The role of Casimir in In the Forests near Kowels (1985) was viewed by the dark-haired mime as the high point of his work.

In addition, Stolbow was involved in ten films as a voice actor, most recently in the Russian version of The Verdict - The Truth and Nothing But Truth (1982).

Stolbow was diagnosed with cancer of the larynx in the late 1980s . Several operations and the insertion of a medical valve saved his life, but his ability to speak remained severely impaired. He still appeared in the film until 1993.

Stolbow died at the age of 63 in his hometown and was buried in the north cemetery.

Private

Stolbow was first married to the actress Dolores Ivanovna Stolbowa (1936-1994), both had a daughter named Olga. He then married Elvira Dmitrijewna Tarasowa, their daughter Tatiana studied literature and later became a member of the Russian Association of Authors .
