Andain is a music project from San Francisco consisting of producer Josh Gabriel and singer Mavie Marcos. Her style includes trance , progressive house and indie rock .

Band history

The music group Andain was founded in 2001 and originally included guitarist David Penner. In 2002 her first debut single "Summer Calling" was released on the Black Hole Recordings label . The single was remixed by Airwave and DJ Tomcraft , among others .

Andain's most successful track to date is the single "Beautiful Things", which was also released in 2003 on Black Hole Recordings. Numerous remixes of this single were also produced, including by Cor Fijneman and in 2010 by Roger Shah , Pedro del Mar and Jorn van Deynhoven . The single was nominated in the 2004 International Dance Music Awards at the Winter Music Conference in the category Best Progressive / Trance Track . The award finally went to “As The Rush Comes” by Motorcycle , which was also co-produced by Josh Gabriel. The group was also nominated in the Best New Dance Group category.

In 2004 the trio released the songs “You Once Told Me” and the Depeche Mode cover “Here is the House”, which appeared on Gabriel & Dresden's album Bloom . After that, the music project was temporarily suspended due to other commitments from Josh Gabriel.

Since 2007, the group (now only consisting of Josh Gabriel and Mavie Marcos) worked on their debut album, which was released in September 2012. The first single on the album was “Promises” in June 2011, followed by “Much Too Much” and “Turn Up The Sound”. The single "Promises" was nominated at the International Dance Music Awards 2012 in the categories Best Trance Track and Best Chillout / Lounge Track .
