Gabriel & Dresden is the project name of the two DJs and producers Josh Gabriel and Dave Dresden from San Francisco , who are mainly known and active in the USA.
Career
They merged in 2001 and have since made a name for themselves through numerous remixes, among other things. In addition to dance titles such as Tiëstos In My Memory or Above & Beyonds No One On Earth, they also remixed many pop titles, among others by Dido ( Don't Leave Home ), Jewel ( Intuition , Serve The Ego ), Dave Gahan (I. Need You) , Sarah McLachlan (Fallen) , New Order (Someone Like You) and Britney Spears / Madonna (Me Against The Music) . Gabriel & Dresden play a mix of progressive trance and house in their DJ sets . In 2005, the two founded the Organzied Nature label on which they mainly publish their own music.
In 2002, Gabriel & Dresden's first single Lament was released by Saw Recordings in the USA. In 2004 they released their first mix CD Bloom . In early 2005, the single Arcadia was released. At the end of the same year the track Without Your Near, produced together with Markus Schulz and Departure, was released on Coldharbour Recordings' market. Also in 2005 Gabriel & Dresden produced the track Zocalo together with Armin van Buuren , which appeared on Armin van Buuren's album Shivers . In the summer of 2006 the duo released their first studio album entitled Gabriel & Dresden . Tracking Treasure Down and Dangerous Power were also released in the same year . On October 26th 2007 the compilation Toolroom Knights Vol. 2 was released which was mixed by Gabriel & Dresden.
In 2008, Dresden and Garbriel separated. This was done because the duo wanted to develop in different directions. At a festival in Hollywood on January 1, 2011, Dave Dresden and Josh Gabriel performed together again. In April 2011 the project was reactivated.
On February 20, 2012, the track No Reservations was released on the Organized Nature label . Gabriel & Dresden produced this track together with the dubstep duo Secret Panda Society . This was followed by the tracks Arcadia (2012), Play It Back (2012) and Shatter (2013).
In 2016 Josh and Dave started a Kickstarter project to make a new album possible. In the meantime, they began to play together again at events. In December 2017 the new album The Only Road was finally released under the Anjunabeats label.
Motorcycle
Motorcycle is a project by Gabriel & Dresden together with the singer Jes Brieden . Under this name they released the single As The Rush Comes on Positiva in mid-2003 . The single was commercially successful in several countries; it reached number 11 in the British charts. In addition, it was recognized at the 2004 International Dance Music Awards at the Winter Music Conference in the category of Best Progressive / Trance Track of the Year. In the same year they released two more singles called Deep, Breath, Love and Imagination . However, these could not build on the success of As the rush comes .
