Shivers (from English shiver = shivering, trembling) is a music album by Armin van Buuren .
History of origin
Shivers first appeared on August 8, 2005 on the Armada Music record label in the Netherlands and Belgium . On September 12, 2005 it was finally released in Germany (on Supra Recordings , distributed by edel ). It is assigned to the genre trance . More precisely, the album is a mixture of progressive trance , uplifting trance as well as downtempo and breakbeat . Shivers is the second studio album by Armin van Buuren. On this album Armin van Buuren worked with a variety of guest singers and producers, such as former Genesis singer Ray Wilson , the Dutch star pianist and composer Jan Vayne and the producer team Gabriel & Dresden from the USA .
The production of Shivers lasted about two years and was mainly in Amsterdam , the Netherlands but also in San Francisco , USA (with Gabriel & Dresden), in Miami , USA (with Markus Schulz and Mic Burns) and in New York , USA (with Nadia Ali from iiO ) added.
Armin himself said the album was a very important step in songwriting . He co-wrote most of the lyrics and worked with various styles of music. His main style will always be trance, but elements from other musical styles are also processed in the tracks when you work with other artists.
In 2006 van Buuren received the Edison Award in the Dance category for the album .

So far, the tracks Shivers and Serenity have been released on both maxi-CD and vinyl . Control Freak was released on vinyl in June 2006. The eleventh track Anthem is a hidden bonus track that was attached to Serenity (track 10) on the album .

Record edition
In addition to the CD version, a record version has also been released in the Netherlands by Armada Music. There were three album samplers each with two, so a total of six tracks ( Empty State , Zocalo , Bounce Back , Wall Of Sound , Control Freak , Gypsy and Hymne ). There was also an edition (called "Vinyl Album") in which all three albums are combined in a box set .
