Pedro del Mar

Pedro del Mar , real name Patrick Shah , is a German music producer , DJ , radio presenter and record label owner. He is the owner of the brands Mellomania (radio broadcasts, events and music compilations) and Music Invasion (music compilations). Since October 2014 he has been running another new record label based on the global trance movement in social networks under the name #trancefamily . He is also the managing director of the family-owned music company Shah-Music and the associated music publisher SMP Musikverlag Gisela Shah. His brother Roger Shah , with whom he hosted the weekly radio show Mellomania Deluxe on sunshine live until January 2007 , is also active in the music industry as a DJ, composer and music producer.

Pedro del Mar releases through record labels such as Universal Music , Sony Music , Warner Music , EMI Music , Armada Music , Black Hole Recordings , Shah-Music, Magic Island Recordings, #trancefamily, Music Invasion, delmar, Club Traxx! Rec., Pulsive Media and many more.

He became internationally known with his first single Harder ?! which was initially launched on its own label Club Traxx! Rec. And became the Ibiza summer hit in 2002 thanks to the English BBC Radio 1 DJ Judge Jules . Countless so-called major companies came up against offers for this single and so it was finally released physically on CD , vinyl and MC in over 60 countries around the world . Among other things, the single rose to number 79 in the official English sales charts in September 2002. Since then, Pedro has been internationally active as a remixer and producer. Remixes for artists such as Tiesto , Paul van Dyk , Roger Shah , Cosmic Gate , System F , Robbie Rivera , Emma Hewitt , The Thrillseekers , Sunlounger, JES and many more followed.

After various events under the name Mellomania, he founded the radio show of the same name in November 2001. For its part, it was the first special program on sunshine live that was exclusively dedicated to the international trance genre and that, after a restructuring, presented practically all internationally successful DJs for the first time via guest mixes on the German radio landscape. In addition to national DJ greats such as Paul van Dyk and Timo Maas , Tiesto , Above & Beyond , Ferry Corsten , Judge Jules , Paul Oakenfold and Armin Van Buuren were guests of the world's DJ elite.

Since 2003 there has also been a Mellomania CD series of the same name at regular intervals. So far, 23 issues have appeared worldwide. In October 2014, Pedro del Mar announced in his broadcast that a new CD would be released in mid-January 2015. In addition to the Mellomania compilation, he is responsible for several hundred other compilations, which are almost exclusively dedicated to the music genres Trance, Balearic and Chillout. Since 2010 he has been releasing another compilation series with Playa Del Lounge, which can be found in the genre of chillout , lounge , acoustic and downbeat and which is published via Black Hole Recordings and Sony Music .
