Anders Olsson (born January 20, 1981 ) is a Swedish chess player .

He won the open Swedish junior championship in 1997 in Visby , the Swedish junior championship in 1998 in Ronneby and 2000 in Örebro .

For the B selection of the Swedish national team, he played in 2005 at the European team championship in Gothenburg . He plays club chess for SK Rockaden Stockholm , with which he has won the Swedish team championship several times ( 2000/01 , 2003/04 , 2004/05 , 2007/08 and 2008/09 ) and at the European Club Cups in 2001, 2005 and 2008 participated. He had his best result at a European Club Cup in Saint Vincent in 2005 : with a result of 4.5 points from 6 games, he achieved an Elo rating of 2607 there.

He had already collected the necessary standards for the title of International Master by November 2002, but had to wait until October 2003 to be awarded the title, since only then did he exceed the required Elo rating of 2400. His Elo rating is 2400 (as of January 2019), but he is listed as inactive because he has not played an Elo-rated game since the 2010/11 season of the Swedish Elitserien . His highest rating to date was 2426 from October 2003 to September 2004.
