André Borsche

André Borsche (* 1955 in Berlin ) is a German doctor.

Life

Borsche studied medicine in Berlin and Freiburg . After completing his doctorate, he completed his surgical specialist training in Karlsruhe . This was followed by specialization in plastic surgery in Ludwigshafen and Frankfurt am Main under Gottfried Lemperle . Since 1995 he has been the chief physician for plastic surgery at the Diakonie Hospital of the Kreuznacher Diakonie Foundation .

Borsche has been head of the Interplast section in Bad Kreuznach since 1996 and is regularly involved with his wife Eva Borsche in plastic-surgical aid projects. From 1999 to 2011 he was chairman of Interplast-Germany . In 2019 he was re-elected to this office. He was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit for his voluntary work with Interplast in developing countries . In 2009, Borsche's Department for Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery in the Diakonie Hospital was recognized by the President of the German Plastic Surgeons as the best training facility for plastic surgery in Germany.

Borsche has been a member of the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery since 2004 and was elected to the Humanitarian Board of IPRAS, the world association of plastic surgeons, in 2011. In 2011, Borsche accepted the Erich Lexer Medal from the German Society for Surgery for Interplast. In 2013 he and his wife were awarded the Child Protection Prize of the Rhineland-Palatinate Regional Association of the German Child Protection Association for their long-term commitment in developing countries . In 2014 he received the Johannes Müller Medal from the Medical Association. In 2018 he was awarded the State Order of Merit by Prime Minister Malu Dreyer. André Borsche is the son of the painter Georg W. Borsche and the nephew of the actor Dieter Borsche .
