André Fabre

André Fabre (born December 9, 1945 ) is a French former jockey and one of the most successful horse trainers in horse racing .

The diplomat's son André Fabre decided to pursue a career as a jockey despite having a good degree. At first he worked as a groom and trainer. He became France's leading obstacle jockey and won more than 250 races, including the Grand Steeple-Chase de Paris , the most important obstacle race in France.

As a coach he later became much more successful. So he won u. a. seven times the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe , the most important horse race in the world. In Germany, winning the European Prize with the stallion Apple Tree in 1992 was his greatest success to date. He also repeatedly successfully trained horses from German owners. Under his guidance , Baron von Ullmanns Shirocco won the Breeders' Cup Turf in 2005 and Ammerlands Lope de Vega stud in 2010, both the French. Derby and the franz. 2000 guineas.
