André Giriat (born August 20, 1905 in Villeurbanne , † July 11, 1967 in Saint-Chamond ) was a French rower .

biography

André Giriat won the gold medal at the European Rowing Championships in 1931 together with Anselme Brusa and helmsman Pierre Brunet . In the following year, the trio won the bronze medal at the Summer Olympics in Los Angeles in twos with helmsman . The three rowers also won the French Championships in 1927 and 1931.

At his second Olympic participation in Berlin in 1936 , he started with Robert Jacquet in a double scull , but missed a medal with fourth place. A year earlier, the duo had won the bronze medal at the European Championships , which also took place in Berlin.
