Sobota ( German Sobota ) is a village and the rural municipality Rokietnica in the Powiat Poznański of the Greater Poland Voivodeship in Poland . It is the seat of a Schulzenamt , to which the western village of Bytkowo also belongs.
geography
The place is located in the northwest of the voivodeship capital Poznan . The city limits are about four kilometers away.
history
After the invasion of Poland , Sobota was renamed Sonnenfeld in October 1939 .
Attractions
The village has two sights protected as cultural monuments:
- The baroque parish church was built in 1780 and entered into the voivodeship's national list of monuments on December 21, 1932. Its oldest parts date from the early 16th century. On July 21, 1965, under the number 84 / A, the monument protection was extended to the gate system, the fence and the bell bearer.
- The mansion was built in 1809 and 1912 and registered on October 29, 1968 under the number 340 / A in the voivodeship's national list of monuments. Under the number 1844 / A, the associated park was also recognized as worthy of protection on March 2, 1981.
economy
On the eastern edge of the village and the municipality is the headquarters and a factory of Poz Bruk , which is an important manufacturer of concrete and natural paving stones . The company opened the neighboring tennis center in 2010 . It is one of the largest in the voivodeship.
Sports
The tennis tournaments for women Powiat Poznański Open 2014 and 2015 took place in the tennis center Centrum Tenisowe Sobota in summer 2014 and 2015 .
traffic
The entrance to the S11 expressway , which bypasses Poznan to the west, is about one kilometer from Sobota. The S11 continues as the national road DK11 in a northerly direction to Kołobrzeg (Kolberg) . In its old course, the DW433 Voivodeship Road leads to the city center of Poznan.
The nearest station is Złotniki on the route from Poznan to Piła (Schneidemühl) . In Rokietnica there is a train station on the main line from Poznan to Szczecin .
The nearest international airport is Poznań-Ławica .
