Andrés Fabricio Romero (born December 21, 1989 in Córdoba ) is an Argentine football player who is used as a midfielder .

Career

Club career

Andrés Romero was trained at the Argentinos Juniors' youth academy . In 2008 Romero finally made his professional debut with the Argentinos in the Argentine Primera División . There he came to a total of 41 missions between 2008 and 2011, in which he scored four goals.

In 2012 Romero moved to Criciúma EC in the Brazilian Série B , where he was used nine times. In the same year Romero went to Náutico Capibaribe in the Campeonato Brasileiro de Futebol , the highest football league in Brazil, where he was used in another six league games by the end of the year. In 2013 he moved again within Brazil by joining Tombense FC ; at Tombense, however, he was not used.

Tombense FC loaned Romero to the Canadian franchise Montreal Impact in 2013 . On March 16, 2013 Romero came in the derby against Toronto FC for his first appearance in the North American Major League Soccer . During the 2013 season Romero was able to establish himself as a regular player and was used in 30 season games, in which he completed two season games.

For the 2014 season , the loan was extended with Montreal Impact. Romero made 29 appearances for Impact in 2014, scoring six goals and preparing three more goals. For the season Romero was named Most Valuable Player of the team. In early 2015, Romero's final move from Tombense FC to Montreal Impact was completed.

National team

During 2009 Romero was used five times for the Argentine U-20 selection . With this selection he also took part in the 2009 U-20 South American Football Championship in Venezuela .

Private

Romero is married and the father of twins .
