Andrés Fresenga , full name Andrés Matías Fresenga Cúneo , (born October 12, 1992 in Toronto , Canada ) is a Canadian football player .

Career

The 1.75-meter-tall defensive player Fresenga, whose two parents were born in the Uruguayan city of Pando , moved from Uruguay's Racing Club de Montevideo to the Canadian franchise Ottawa Fury in January 2014 . There he played - each without a personal goal - in 2014 in four NASL games and one encounter in the Canadian Championship . In April 2015 he signed a contract with the Woodbridge Strikers, who were competing in League1 Ontario . In the first seven months of 2016 he was in New Zealand for Team Taranaki . In mid-August 2016, he joined the Uruguayan second division Canadian Soccer Club . In the 2016 season he played nine games in the Segunda División . He did not score a hit. In mid-February 2017, Cerro Largo FC signed him , for whom he played in two second division games (no goal). At the beginning of July 2017 he moved to Deportivo Suchitepéquez in Guatemala .

National team

Fresenga was a member of the Canadian U-20 national team at least in 2011 , took part in the 2011 CONCACAF U-20 championship and was used twice (no goal) during the tournament. In 2012 he was a member of the U-23 of Canada and in that year he completed two international games (no goal) as part of the Olympic qualification. In 2013 he was called up to the senior squad of Canada at least twice.
