Andraž Struna (born April 23, 1989 in Piran ) is a Slovenian football player .

Career

Andraž Struna began his career in his hometown at NK Portorož Piran. From 2007 he was under contract for four seasons with FC Koper , with whom he was able to win the Supercup and the Slovenian championship . At the end of the 2010/11 season , Struna moved to KS Cracovia in Poland. At the Polish first division club, he could not fight for a regular place. After two seasons he left the club and signed a contract with PAS Ioannina . For the club, the defender completed 82 league games in the Super League as a regular in three seasons . The expiring contract was not extended in summer 2016. After half a year without a club, the 27-year-old signed a contract with the Scottish first division club Heart of Midlothian . But only six months later he moved to New York City FC . He has been under contract with Anorthosis Famagusta in Cyprus since 2018 .

National team

Andraž Struna played from 2009 to 2010 in the U-20 and U-21 age group of Slovenia. In August 2012 Struna made his debut for the senior team against Romania . He scored his first and only goal in the 6-0 win over San Marino in March 2015. He has not been nominated since 2016.
