Andrea Allio the Younger (also: Aglio, Daglio, De Aglio, de Lalio, Ladio * in Scaria ; † between 1 to 10 January 1645 in Vienna ) was a from Italy originating Baroque -Baumeister in Vienna in the 17th century .

Life

He came from a widespread family of master builders and masons , stonemasons , sculptors and plasterers from the area around Lake Como , from Scaria in Val d'Intelvi . His parents were Santino and Catarina Allio; his uncle was the builder Andrea Allio the Elder , who had lived in Vienna since the 1620s and who probably brought him to Vienna. The younger Allio has been in Vienna since 1641. In that year he married Lucia Retacco, the widow of the Viennese builder and countryman Giovanni Battista Orsi . In the year he died, she married the Viennese master builder Silvester Carlone , who also came from his home village .

  • Allio the Younger was involved in the renovation and rebuilding of the Michaelerkirche of the Barnabite Monastery in Vienna.
  • On 2 March 1643 the abbot of the mandated Vienna Schottenstift , Anton Spindler of Hoffegg , him and his uncle with the continuation of the 1638 started partial rebuilding of dilapidated and already partially collapsed and demolished Gothic (ruled 1642-1648.)   • In 1644 he continued the renovation (inner courtyard) of the Casa Santa , the Loreto Chapel on the Hradschin in Prague , succeeding Giovanni Battista Orsi ; after his death in 1646, Silvester Carlone took over the construction.
