Andrea Bölk (born November 10, 1968 in Rostock ; born Andrea Stein ) is a former German handball player and trainer .

Career

Andrea Bölk began playing handball at TSG Wismar in 1975 and moved to SC Empor Rostock at the age of 14 , with whom she won the GDR championship in 1989. Between 1990 and 2000, the backcourt player was active with Bundesliga club Buxtehuder SV , for whom she scored 872 goals in 200 Bundesliga appearances. In 1994 she won the Euro City Cup with the BSV . After a baby break, Bölk was reactivated by TV Oyten in the 2001/02 season . Here she became a player-coach and ended her career there in 2004 for family and professional reasons.

Bölk played 201 international matches for the German national team , in which they scored 361 goals. With the national team she won the world championship in 1993 and became vice-European champion in 1994 . She also took part in the 1992 Olympic Games and 1996 Olympic Games . With the GDR junior selection, Bölk won bronze at the 1987 World Cup.

Private

Andrea Bölk, daughter of soccer player Klaus-Peter Stein and handball national player Inge Stein (née Jeske), is married to Matthias, with whom she has two daughters. Her daughter Emily also plays handball. The family lives in Buxtehude.
