Andrea Brunner (born January 22, 1979 in Schwaz , Tyrol ) is an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ). From October 1, 2017, she was interim federal manager of the SPÖ together with Christoph Matznetter , and from December 21, 2017 deputy federal manager of the Social Democratic Party of Austria .

Life

Brunner attended the Bundesrealgymnasium Schwaz . During her school days, she was chairwoman of the AKS Tirol in the 1996/1997 school year . From July 2001 to June 2003 she was a member of the chairmanship of the ÖH Uni Vienna and at the same time a member of the board of the VSStÖ . From July 2003 to July 2005 she was federal chairwoman of the VSStÖ. From September 2002 to December 2008 she was employed by the SPÖ and helped organize federal election campaigns. From January 2009 to January 2014 she was press officer for Minister for Women Gabriele Heinisch-Hosek . Since February 1, 2014, she has been the federal women’s manager of the SPÖ.

On September 30, 2017, two weeks before the National Council election in Austria 2017 , the previous SPÖ federal manager Georg Niedermühlbichler resigned from his position in the course of the Silberstein affair . On October 1st, Brunner and CFO Christoph Matznetter were appointed interim as federal managing director.

On November 26, 2019, her withdrawal as deputy SPÖ federal manager was announced.
