Andrea De Felip

Andrea De Felip (born July 4, 1970 in Milan ) is an Italian diplomat . He was the Italian Ambassador to Mongolia from 2016 to 2019 . Since then he has been the Italian Consul General in Sydney , Australia .

Life

Andrea De Felip grew up in Turin and studied political science at the University of Turin with a semester abroad at the University of Wollongong and a postgraduate course at the ISPI Institute in Milan (Istituto per gli studi di politica internazionale) . He graduated in 2000.

He is married and has a son.

Diplomatic career

Andre De Felip entered the diplomatic service after completing his studies. In the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs , he was first employed in the Directorate General for Asia, Oceania, the Pacific and Antarctica and from 2001 in the Directorate General for Multilateral Political Relations and Human Rights.

His first assignment abroad started in 2004 as First Secretary and Consul at the Italian Embassy in Israel . From 2008 he was Trade Secretary and Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy in Singapore . From 2013 he worked in Rome in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the General Directorate for Globalization and Global Issues.

On June 17, 2016, he became the first Italian ambassador to Ulaanbaatar . Before that, the Italian ambassadors in Beijing were also accredited for Ulaanbaatar . He moved from Mongolia to Australia and became Consul General in Sydney in 2019.
