Andrea Pininfarina

Andrea Pininfarina (born June 26, 1957 in Turin , Italy as Andrea Farina; † August 7, 2008 in Trofarello ) was an Italian entrepreneur and CEO of the coachbuilder Pininfarina , which operates under his family name .

He was married to Cristina Pellion, with whom he had three children. His father was Sergio Pininfarina . Pininfarina attended the Polytechnic University of Turin and successfully completed his engineering degree in 1981. He then worked for the Fruehauf Corporation in the USA . In 1983 he joined the family business as a project manager for the Cadillac Allanté . In 1987 he was promoted to Deputy General Manager and in 1988 to General Manager. Since 1994 he was managing director and in 2001 he took over the responsibility as CEO. Pininfarina was Vice President of the Italian Business Association ( Confindustria ) under Luca Cordero di Montezemolo .

Andrea Pininfarina died on August 7, 2008 in an accident while riding a Vespa scooter near the company's headquarters in Cambiano .
