Andreas Anton (born November 13, 1983 in Villingen-Schwenningen ) is a German sociologist .

Life

Andreas Anton studied sociology, history and cognitive science at the Albert-Ludwigs-University in Freiburg . He received his doctorate as Dr. phil. in the DFG project In the shadow of scientism. For dealing with heterodox knowledge, experiences and practices in the GDR . Since 2017 he has been a research assistant at the Institute for Frontier Areas of Psychology and Mental Hygiene .

His areas of work are: knowledge , media , culture and health sociology , methods of qualitative and quantitative social research .

Current research interests are: Sociological and historical questions on topics of parapsychology and anomalies / emergence, dissemination and social significance of heterodox knowledge, experiences and forms of practice / social patterns of interpretation of extraordinary experiences / social and cultural-scientific aspects of SETI research.

Anton is a member of the FDP . From 2011 to 2015 he was district chairman of the Young Liberals in South Baden. Since 2017 he has been chairman of the FDP local association in Trossingen .

family

Andreas Anton is a grandson of the writer Herbert Walz . The saxophonist Matthias Anton is his older brother.
