Andreas Behr (economist)

Andreas Behr (* 1967 in Offenbach am Main ) is a German economist and statistician .

Andreas Behr was born in Offenbach am Main in 1967. After high school in 1987 at the Rudolf-Koch-Schule in Offenbach and the community service of the civil service , he graduated from 1988 to 1993 at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main studying economy , which he as a graduate economist graduated. From 1990 to 1991 he studied two semesters at the University of Southampton . From 1994 to 1995 he also studied business administration in Frankfurt with a degree in business administration . In addition, from 1994 to 1998 he was a research assistant at the Institute for Statistics and Mathematics with Werner Neubauer . In 1998 he was with the dissertation The intra-industry foreign trade in Germany for Dr. rer. pole. for which he received the thesis award of the IHK Frankfurt am Main .

In 1999 Behr stayed for a three-month research stay at the University of Kyūshū , Japan .

He completed his habilitation in 2003 with the thesis Investment and Liquidity Constraints . From 2003 to 2009 he was an academic advisor at the Institute for Econometrics and Economic Statistics at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster . Behr has been Professor of Economics, especially Statistics, at the University of Duisburg-Essen since 2009 . His research areas are determinants of investment activity , comparative analyzes of wage and income distributions as well as analysis methods for missing values.
