Andreas Brand
Andreas Brand (born May 11, 1964 in Esslingen am Neckar ) is a German local politician ( Free Voters ).
Education and career
In 1984 Brand began training in the higher-level non-technical administrative service at the city of Ostfildern . He then completed his studies at the University of Public Administration and Finance in Ludwigsburg , which he graduated with a degree in administration. From 1992 to 2004 he was mayor of the community of Weil im Schönbuch . In 2004 he became first mayor of the city of Böblingen .
Lord Mayor Friedrichshafen
Brand has been Lord Mayor of Friedrichshafen since June 5, 2009 . In the second ballot he received an absolute majority with 69.96% of the votes. In 2017 he was re-elected.
As Lord Mayor of Friedrichshafen, he is chairman of the Zeppelin Foundation and on the supervisory board of Zeppelin GmbH , ZF Friedrichshafen AG , Technische Werke Friedrichshafen GmbH , Messe Friedrichshafen GmbH and the Friedrichshafen Clinic.
criticism
In 2017, Brand prevailed in the power struggle for the future of the world's third largest automotive supplier ZF Friedrichshafen AG against CEO Stefan Sommer and Chairman of the Supervisory Board Giorgio Behr, who is employed by the Zeppelin Foundation at ZF AG . Sommer and Behr tried several times to put the foundation's operations on the stock exchange against the will of the owner, the Zeppelin Foundation and the city of Friedrichshafen . Brand and the bodies behind him (local council, supervisory board and Zeppelin Foundation ) then dismissed Sommer and publicly confirmed the adherence to the foundation as a company form several times .
