List of European reptiles

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The list of European reptiles contains all reptiles occurring in Europe down to the species level. The border here is a line that runs from the Urals across the Caucasus and along the Turkish Black Sea and Aegean coasts to the south. Species whose distribution area is only in the southern Caucasus or in the Asian part of Turkey are not listed. Not even those of the Canaries , Madeira and the Azores . However, it includes the species from the Greek Aegean Islands off the Turkish coast and Cyprus , and the sea turtles that occur on the coasts of Europe.

The species found in Germany , Austria and Switzerland are highlighted in bold.
