Andreas Ebertus
Andreas Ebertus (born July 12, 1479 in Grünberg , † August 22, 1557 in Wriezen ) was a German Lutheran theologian .
Life
Andreas Ebertus studied in Prague, Leipzig and Wittenberg. After that he had rich benefices in Neisse and Ottmachau . He soon turned to the teachings of Martin Luther and probably came to the still Catholic Frankfurt (Oder) in 1535 , where he gave Reformation sermons among the families of the patriciate, especially the Winse, Sporn and Affen families, which is why he soon returned from there had to flee. After the Protestant teaching was introduced by Joachim II in Brandenburg in 1539 , Ebertus was given a pastor's position in Wriezen.
His son Jakob became professor of theology at the Brandenburg University of Frankfurt .
In Frankfurt (Oder) a street is named after Andreas Ebertus.
