Jakob Ebert
Jakob Ebert (born January 26, 1549 in Sprottau , † February 5, 1614 in Frankfurt (Oder) ) was a German Lutheran theologian and poet .
Jakob Ebertus was a son of Andreas Ebertus . He was rector in Soldin , Schwiebus and Grünberg . From 1594 he taught as a professor of theology at the Brandenburg University in Frankfurt .
Jacob Ebert wrote the hymn Du Prince of Peace, Lord Jesus Christ ( EC 422) in 1601 with the melody of Bartholomew Gesius appeared and Dieterich Buxtehude ( BuxW 20 and 21) and Johann Sebastian Bach ( You prince of peace, Lord Jesus Christ ) in cantatas set to music has been.
