Georg Gottfried Küster

Georg Gottfried Küster (born January 1695 in Halle (Saale) ; † February 28, 1776 in Berlin ) was a German schoolboy and historian .

Life

Küster was the son of a tailor and a preacher's daughter, granddaughter of Adam Olearius . Since 1712, he played at the University of Halle , a study of theology , but also attended lectures by Johann Gottlieb Heineccius for Roman and German legal history. After that he was briefly employed in Berlin as a tutor from 1716 . In 1718 he was appointed principal of the school in Tangermünde . He returned to Berlin in 1723 and was at the Cöllnisches Gymnasium until 1728 . Also in 1728 Küster became a member of the Royal Academy of Sciences . He finally found his professional development first as vice rector and from 1732 until his death as rector of the Friedrichswerder grammar school .
